— Catechism of the Catholic Church 755 —

Yet the true vine is Christ who gives life and fruitfulness to the branches, that is, to us, who through the Church remain in Christ, without whom we can do nothing.

Funding the Oratory

The Dublin Oratory in Formation is financially dependent on what it receives in donations from parishioners, visitors and friends.

We rely on the generosity of our congregation and supporters for the upkeep and good repair of our unique church including its architecture, decoration and music.

Please consider supporting our apostolate by giving through the means suggested below.

Giving

You can support the Dublin Oratory financially in two ways:

1. By weekly donation envelopes, standing orders, or occasional contributions. This is the preferred manner of contribution. You can download a form here, or take one from the tables as you leave the church. Completed forms should be returned to The Presbytery, Harrington Street, Dublin 8.

This income looks after the upkeep and maintenance of the church. We have very considerable running costs. For example, to heat the church in the winter costs about €2,000 per month; our annual insurance premium is roughly €13,000.

Please email us for a standing order form, or to request a box of donation envelopes. Donations may be left in the special donation box in the church at any time (the box is emptied every day).

Donations can also be made online via Paypal.

2. By contributing to the first collection at Mass, and the special contributions of dues at Easter and Christmas. These donations go to remunerate the priests, who in turn have to look after all their own living expenses.

There are those who do not consider themselves parishioners as such, or even believers, but would like to contribute to the conservation of St Kevin’s as an historic building of great cultural significance.

For this reason we established the St Kevin’s Heritage Fund. Donations to this fund go purely towards the ongoing work of maintaining and conserving the fabric of this beautiful church (i.e. not towards the running costs of the parish or the support of the priests).

To contribute to this fund, please mark your donation with ‘St Kevin’s Heritage Fund.’
